CECH WANTS COLLECTIVE EFFORT TO STOP CHELSEA

Arsenal first choice shot stopper Petr Cech has asked for a collective efforts from competing sides in the Premier League in a bid to stop his former club from running off with the title early in the second half of the season.

Chelsea have seen a brilliant run since last year when the team chance tactics and develop high confidence. They are clear favourites to reclaim their crown from Leicester.

With Chelsea losing to Spurs 2-0, it gives the top teams’ hope of fighting to the end for the title as the margin reduces. The Blues have to play Arsenal and Liverpool in their next two fixtures and dropping more points could really open up serious competition for the title.

“I think it’s good that all teams in the chasing pack keep picking up points. That way Chelsea will start feeling the pressure from behind. This is probably the best thing for the teams who are chasing. For us, it is important to keep winning so they don’t increase the gap between themselves and us,” the keeper said.

Cech spoke of the hard fought victories the team has been having of recent, saying the most important thing was not the scoreline but the win.

On scoring a lot of goals, he said:

“I think every goal is important in the long run. When you see how tight it is in the top five places, every goal might count. So, we need to continue to search for more goals and make sure we don’t concede. “

Arsenal have been doing their part but going by their precedence, many don’t fancy them picking up the title this term. However, they remain contenders for the top flight English football title.
