Arsenal Now Capable of Handling Pressure, Says Petr Cech

Arsenal managed to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League after the 5-1 win over neighbours West Ham.

It was seen as an extremely tough contest for the gunners after having just come through the North London derby with Tottenham. In the past, West Ham have been able to put intense pressure on Arsenal and a sneak in some results. This was not the case, as Arsenal enjoyed a comfortable afternoon. Goalkeeper Petr Cech has been able to provide a lot of stability at the back and it has allowed Arsenal to concentrate on going forward.

The goalkeeper says that the successes Arsenal have achieved in the tough matches clearly show that the club are now capable of handling the pressure unlike before. Signings of several experienced players like Alex Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and Petr Cech has certainly helped this regard.

All three players have the experience of winning major titles in the careers and they have been able to assist the existing players at Arsenal who have not won much. Arsenal have one of the best defensive record in the division after having conceded more goals than only Chelsea and Tottenham. Cech’s form has been a crucial factor in this regard.

Against West Ham, Sanchez came up with a hat-trick to become one of the leading scorers in the Premier League.“It became a kind of must-win game for us when Chelsea won and obviously the gap opened to six points. We knew what we had to do and we did it in a very professional way, so we are happy. We a lot of opportunities in the first half but it wouldn’t go in. In the second half at 1-0 their keeper made some fantastic saves and you think it could still be a dangerous scoreline,” said Cech.
