Arsene Wenger did not sign any outfield player during the summer transfer window as the only player that was signed by Arsenal was PetrCech who was lured away from Chelsea and acquired for a transfer fee of €10 million.
Despite having only signed 1 player in the summer, this signing has turned things around for the team of Arsene Wenger as the veteran shot-stopper makes consistent performances at a high level and has been receiving praise from everywhere. Theo Walcott is one of the latest figures in the world of football who has lauded the Czech player as he said: “From when we signed him, we all knew how good he was after what he achieved at Chelsea. On a personal level, for him it’s great. He’s changed us completely in that back four. He’s a talker, he believes in us all.
“That’s why he wanted to join us and having that presence behind you is always nice to have. He’s very commanding, he’s a leader in the dressing room as well, he always likes to talk.
Arsene Wenger is planning to sign a few more players when the transfer window re-opens in January but the French manager stated that he will only add performers who are genuinely needed.
Arsenal still continues to suffer with injuries as the amount of injured players seems to not stop and some of the performers which have recently been struggling with injuries are: MikelArteta, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, SantiCazorla and Tomas Rosicky.
The main reason of why Wenger is planning to sign players in January is to have enough options at his availability just in case the injuries keep on coming which is a trend that seems to happen for Arsenal.
The French manager is hoping that these upcoming arrivals will have the same kind of impact that PetrCech has had since he made his way to the Emirates Stadium.
