Petr Cech, who is named the Czech Republic most popular player for a record eight times in a row has made official confirmation that he will be returning to action right after the international break. Cech is a former Chelsea stopper and while playing against Watford in the quarter finals of the FA Cup, the stopper suffered a serious calf related injury that took him out of commission for a while.
His return doesn’t come unappreciated either. With the big Gunners game coming up, Cech returning is their hope to keep going for the Premier League Title. Cech has high hopes and hopes that he is inspiring other young players to compete for their nation. While Cech has certainly had an amazing run thus far, he wants his positivity and his play style to rub off on the younger players around Europe. Cech cited that his inspiration to play for his homeland came from the Czech Republic’s 1996 Euro finals.
If a team can play at the highest level while representation their nation, Cech believes that it opens more door for younger people who have a dream of playing at that level or at least builds some inspiration to do so. People who have dreamt about going aboard and playing in big league games may now be able to do so. Cech stated that the injury overall wasn’t anything serious and he was still excited for every single training session with promises of coming back soon.
