Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes the strikers at the club’s disposal mean that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are a threat to any defence, domestically or on the continent.

“We have a front two that will worry everyone in the Premier League and in Europe,” Cech told the club’s official website.

“One is the former best scorer in the league and the other is last season’s top scorer and if you count the goals together, it is a great striking force.

“The season is long and we will need everyone to score goals,” he continued. “But if they score in every game, it will be great for us.”

Cech has no doubts that Anelka and Drogba can play together effectively as a unit. “It is a perfect combination”.
